INTRODUCTION

Prior to 15 April 1945, B-29 crew members who were
captured in the Fukuoka region were transferred to Tokyo.

This changed around mid April and SSgt Billy Joe Brown was
the first B-29 crew member captured on 29 April 1945.

In the Case History 563 Documents section
are the names of 44 POWs who were
killed in the vicinity of Western Army Headquarters,
Fukuoka Prefecture.

This list is arranged in Chronological Order by crash date. In most situations the status of each crew member is stated.

The six pages of the Synopsis that appear in Page 3 focus on the Legal and Investigative aspects of Case History 563.

Included are statements and testimony from witnesses and defendants in Yokohama Trial T-288.

Numerous locations in and around Fukuoka are mentioned
