Prior to his Enlistment in February 1943, 2nd Lt Robert Grace's
middle name appears in documents as ' Thomas '.

Within one month this changed to ' Logan '.

Robert Thomas Grace was born in St Louis, Missouri, on 9 February 1919.
By the time of the 1920 Census his family had moved to Chicago, Illinois.

Another move took place sometime during the 1920s
when the family moved to Oakland, California.

Robert Thomas Grace attended Fremont High School in Oakland, California,
graduating with the Class of January 1936.

On 7 September 1940 he married Lesley Agnes Fawcett in San Leandro, California.

His enlistment took place 18 February 1943 Sheppard Field, Wichita Falls, Texas.
At that time he was placed in the Enlisted Reserve .
