The first document in this section is dated 18 August 1949 and is a recommendation that X-212 be redesignated as SSgt Alfred J McNamara.

The remaining five documents disapprove his designation as identifiable and go on to state that his remains and those of 36 other men who died
in the Tokyo Military Prison fire are non-recoverable.
