Below are two Battle Casualty Reports and two Reports of Death.
In each document the Emergency Addressee ( E.A.) is James B. Wolfe,
Sgt Olson's Uncle

In going through the documents in Sgt Olson's IDPF multiple times,
I came to the conclusion that the Emergency Addressee is not
necessarily the Legal Next of Kin.

Only the Legal Next of Kin could make decisions
concerning how Sgt Olson's remains are to be handled.

This situation is covered in the Coming Home and Next of Kin Sections

The Battle Casualty Reports are straight forward with
the first stating that Sgt Olson is Missing in Action.

The second one from January 1948 changes this to

Died of Wounds Received in Action While a Prisoner of War of the Japanese

The first Report of Death states Date of Death as 5 June 1945.

This is corrected in the second one ,dated 3 February 1948, to 30 May 1945
