Below are two Battle Casualty Reports ( BCR ) and two Reports of Death.

The first BCR is dated 25 July 1945 and Sgt Shiber's status is Missing in Action.

The date of the second BCR is 27 April 1947.
Sgt Shiber's status is changed to Killed in Action with
date of death 15 August 1945.

At the bottom is the notation
KILLED WHILE POW OF JAPANESE GOVT AT OSAKA

The first Report of Death was issued on 15 May 1946 with Date of Death 26 June 1945.

A second Report was issued 7 April 1947 and Date of Death was corrected to 15 August 1945.


In the two Reports of Death, Mrs Elizabeth Shiber is listed as Sgt Shiber's mother.

She was actually his step mother and died on 21 January 1945.

Elizabeth Kearney married Mr Urban Shiber sometime between 1930 and 1935.

Sgt Raymond Shiber may have been identified in May 1946.

The paragraph in the Additional Data and/or Statement section of each

Report of Death

states this without providing any documentaton.
