| 1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup shortening
| 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
sesame seeds, toasted
| Mix sugar, butter or margarine, shortening, and eggs.
Stir in flour, cream of tartar and baking soda.
Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls and roll in sesame seeds.
Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets and bake at 400 until set, 8-10 minutes.
Immediately remove from cookie sheet
