Kenneth Lloyd Schank enlisted in the US Navy on 24 July 1942 In March 1943 he came aboard the Helena from the Great Lakes Service School He
survived the Battle of Kula Gulf and his story is at this link The July 1943 Muster Roll states that he was transferred to the USS Hornet but based on his story, he never reached the carrier |
