Sgt Maurice Myers was not officially identified until April 1949
Below are three Battle Casualty Reports (BCR), one Finding of Death
(FOD),
and two Reports of Death.
The first BCR was sent to the family shortly after the B-29 was lost
in April 1945.
The second was sent in June 1946 and included the statement
'recently received information' .
The final BCR was sent in April 1948 stating that
Sgt Myers was Killed in Action while a
Prisoner of War of the Japanese Government.
The first Report of Death was issued 3 July 1946
and states date of death 2 April 1945.
The second, corrected report, April 1948,
changes the date of death to 26 May 1945
