Eleanor's Super Chocolate Chunk Cookies

1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1 tsp vanilla

1 egg

1 cup flour

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

8 squares Baker's semi-sweet chocolate, cut into chunks

3/4 cup chopped walnuts



Beat butter, sugars, vanilla, and egg until light and fluffy. Mix flour with soad and salt; blend into butter mixture.

Stir in chocolate chunks and nuts.

Chill one hour.

Drop 2 inches apart, from heaping tablespoon, onto ungreased baking sheets.

Bake at 350 degrees about 15 minutes, or until lightly browned.

Makes 1 1/2 to 2 dozen.

Note: Recipe may be doubled, tripled, or quadrupled. Dough may be chilled 4 hours or overnight. Let stand at room temperature about 15 minutes before baking.
