Snickerdoodles



From the Betty Crocker Cookie Book, 1980

1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
sesame seeds, toasted


Mix sugar, butter or margarine, shortening, and eggs.

Stir in flour, cream of tartar and baking soda.

Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls and roll in sesame seeds.

Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets and bake at 400 until set, 8-10 minutes.

Immediately remove from cookie sheet
