At an unknown date following recovery of SSgt Algy Augunas' remains
at the Sanadayama Military Cemetery, Osaka, his remains were transported to
United States Armed Forces Mausoleum #3, Yokohama, Japan.

The first steps in his journey home began
with letters to his parents in October 1947.

Next was February 1949 when his remains were
transferred to the American Graves Registration Service Port Facility in Yokohama.

These were placed on board US Army Transport Dalton Victory in early February 1949.

His final destination was Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale, New York.

In the following pages are records from his IDPF documenting this journey.
