Recovery of remains at the Sanadayama Military Cemetery took place between 8 and 24 April 1946. Lt Cobb was recovered on 10 April 1946.

The documents in these pages trace his recovery from an Unknown
( X-24 ) through processes that range from Identification Accepted to Identified as Positive

Within the disinterment and identification pages you will find the statement:
" Head intact and still attached to body "

The significance of of this statement is within Paragraph 5 of the second document in Page 2. The lack of damage to the skull suggests that cause of death was being shot in the heart.

A letter dated 26 December 1946 was sent to Mrs Mary Y Cobb informing her of Lt Harold Cobb's burial location in Yokohama Cemetery.

This letter reached her in early January 1947 following her re-marriage to William R Click on 23 December 1946.
