Senator Homer Ferguson

Within these two pages are three letters, none written by nor sent to Mrs Lucille Condilis, TSgt Copulos' mother.

The first letter immediately reminded me of a book titled Lost in the Victory. The topic of this book is women who lost a father, a husband, her children, or the father of her child/children.

Major General Witsell's reply to Senator Ferguson's letter of 14 August 1948 provides information about the steps taken to identify TSgt Copulos remains. Page 2 of this letter hints he was not identified and the specific cause and date of death unknown. The letter indirectly states that for administrative purposes date of death is 15 August 1945.

However, a report in the Identification section dated late July 1948 states that his identification was accepted.
