There are two aspects of Recovery :

First is the recovery of the remains of the Hahn Crew who died in the crash.
These seven men were identified.

Sgt Clifford Myrha survived the crash but died of injuries shortly thereafter
at the Eastern District Kempei Tai Head Quarters prison.

Second is the recovery of the remains from
the mass grave at the Tokyo Military Prison.

Below are two orientation maps from the
Perry Castaneda Collection at the University of Texas.

These are from the US Army Mapping Service ( AMS ) Series L774.

Circled at the right side of the first map is part of the location of the Imperial Palace.

The Eastern District Kempei Tai Headquarters
was located on the other side of the moat surrrounding the Palace.

The wide oval at the bottom shows the location of the Yoyogi Parade ( Drill ) Grounds
across the streeet from the Tokyo Military Prison.

The second map has the Drill Grounds circled
with the Garrison Prison at the bottom of the cirlce.
