Page 1

Cpl Stanley Forystek's remains were recovered on 11 March 1946 at the Koishikawa Military Cemetery.
Below are three orientation maps.

The Cemetery was located at the upper left corner of the first map ( blue circle ).
Eastern District Kempei Tai Headquarters is at the lower right corner ( blue oval ).
The Headquarters hospital was located beneath the headquarters
in the vicinity of the number 652.

The green area at the bottom of the map is part of the Imperial Palace grounds.

The second map is from Cpl Forystek's IDPF .
Comparing this map to the first one reveals some differences.
The most obvious is the orientation of the Botanical Gardens.

A sketch of the Cemetery grave sites is at the bottom.
At the top of this map is an elongated oval with the words:

" Former recovery site of American remains. "

This sketch was drawn after the Recovery Teams
learned of this isolated burial site.
