This mission was designated as a Maximum Effort.
Every B-29 able to fly would fly this mission.

These documents are from two sources.

The first is Tactical Mission Report 183 from XXI Bomber Command and
the second from the 73rd Bomb Wing Mission #73 Report.


Below are tables focusing on the number of aircraft from
all five Wings of XXI Bomber Command and those of the 73rd Bomb Wing.

644 B-29s were available.
466 were scheduled for the Main Force and 47 were Pathfinders.

452 of the Main force and 46 of the Pathfinders
took off for a total of 498 in the air.

26 B-29s were lost.

Each Group of the 73rd Bomb Wing lost one B-29.
Ramp Queen, 42-63513, was with the 499th Bomb Group.
