William Joseph Franz's father ( 1896 - 1977 ) was born in Newark, New Jersey and

his mother, Theresa V Loughlin ( 1893 - 1946 ), in New York.

Their daughter Marguerite Winifred Franz ( 1920 - 2016 ) and
son William, Jr were born in Newark.

Their home was at 9 Naden Avenue, Irvington, New Jersey
( see Google map below ).

Both Winifred and William attended Morrell High School in Irvington
and their photos are from the 1938 yearbook.

The white oval in the map is Hoboken, New Jersey,
where Lt Franz attended the Stevens Institute of Technology.

From the newspaper clipping at the bottom it appears
that he would have been in the Class of 1942

Information concerning his enlistement and early stations is in Page 2.

Page 3 concerns the Boeing Flying Fortress School in Seattle
that Lt Franz may have attended for a brief period of time.
