were captured by the military.
They were then taken to the Kempei Tai Eastern District Headquarters in Tokyo.

Lt Franz was able to parachute safely out of the aircraft but

RECOVERY DETAILS

Within Lt Franz's IDPF are documents concerning the location where he was recovered.
Two different coordinates are in these documents.

A possibility is that one set of coordinates is where his remains were recovered
and the other the four men who died in the crash.

The first document is from POW Research Network Japan and
is part of the report of the Tobu Army District.

Note that according to this report, 6 men died in the crash.
Five of their remains were located but the sixth was never found.

This sixth man was Lt Robert L Grace.

The crew members who died were all buried near the crash site.

Following the Tobu Army District Report are three maps.

The first is a Google map that shows the crash site in relation to
Tokyo at the middle bottom and Chosi Point at the lower right.

One map from the Army Map Service Series L774
is a wide scale version with the locations of the coordinates in documents.

The second version is a closeup with Kashima-Gun outlined in white.
