2nd Lt William Joseph Franz, Jr
Correspondence

On 15 August 1946 Mr and Mrs Franz wrote to
the Quartermaster General concerning the status of their son
as well as his personal belongings.

The typewritten copy is followed by the original,
and this is followed by a reply.

On 31 March 1947 a letter was sent to Mr Franz and states that
Lt Franz's remains are buried in
United States Armed Forces ( USAF) Cemetery in Yokohama.

At the bottom of this letter is notification that Mr Franz
will be receiving additional correpsondence concerning
his desires where his son should be permanently buried.

On 20 May 1949 Mr Franz was notified that his son
was now buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu.

The last letter is dated 11 March 1953 and contained a photo of Lt Franz's Grave Marker.
