The Office of the Quartermaster General ( OQMG ) was responsible for
all the steps beginning with recovery through
remains being buried in a cemetery chosen by the next of kin.

Lt William Joseph Franz, Jr's, burial site is in the
National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.
