In May 1954 Mrs Dorothy Giddings received the above photo
along with a letter describing the burial location of her son Gerould.

Lt Giddings was with the 505th Bomb Group at Harvard AAF, Nebraska,
from May through September 1944.

He was with the Lt Edward G Law crew and they were transferred to
Pyote AAF, Texas, at the end of September 1944.

They were in training as a replacement crew and
departed Pyote AAF at the end of January 1945

In February 1945 they were transferred to Kearney AAF, Nebraska,
and then flew to Saipan via Mather AAF, Sacramento.

The crew arrived on Saipan 25 February 1945.

Roy Wall located Lt Giddings' Individual Flight Records ( IFR)
at the St Louis National Archives. These IFRs are in the

Introduction

and create a time line of Lt Giddings' units.

Also within the Introduction are newspaper clippings from 1945 and 1946.
In these is information about his stations as well as his family members.
