Within this section are three Battle Casualty Reports dated 25 June 1945 (MIA), 17 June 1946 (KIA 1 June 1945) and 8 February 1949 (KIA 15 August 1945). This last one also contains the statement that he died as a POW.

There are also two Reports of Death with the first issued 26 June 1946 with Date of Death 1 June 1945. The second report is dated 8 March 1949 and corrects Date of Death to 15 August 1945.

It is possible that TSgt Alvin Hart's wife Carol received the June 1946 Battle Casualty Report or a letter concerning its contents as she remarried the following month. These documents are at her Find-A-Grave page within the Osaka Virtual Cemetery.

A key document in this section is the five pages of Change in Date of Death written by Elizabeth A Ridgway, Investigator, in February 1949. In addition to stating corrected dates of death, which were approved byOrder of the Secretary of the Army, she detailed the recovery and identification of the four men of the Crowe crew who were killed or executed at Osaka.

She notes that no specific cause of death could be determined for
TSgt Alvin R Hart nor could his date of death be established.
