The seven pages of this section contain 30 documents and unless otherwise noted, they are from Sgt Meagher's IDPF.
Most are in chronological order but you will notice that some appear to be duplicates.
It seems that an original document is sometimes updated, but the date is not readily apparent.

These pages form a time line that begins the week of 14-21 February 1946 and continues through May 1949.

At the Mass Grave site in the Tokyo Military Prison, Sgt Meagher's remains were given the designation XX-B.
Upon reburial 19 February 1946 at United States Armed Forces ( USAF ) Yokohama Cemetery #1,
he was redesignated as X-209.
This appears in documents up to his formal identification in May 1949.

Beginning in early 1949 there were recommendations that Sgt Meagher's remains be officially identified.
Formal acceptance of these recommendations did not take place until 3 May 1949.

Two of the documents are titled Report of Interment, one in Page 3 and the other in Page 6.
Both have the notation
( Isolated burial )

With these pages are two sketches.
One is the mass grave where the 62 men's remains were recovered.
The second is a photostatic copy from the Yokohama Trial and
notes the location of where the corpses were found.
However, I have not seen any report stating where each of the 62 remains was precisely found.

The most concise report of recovery and identification is in Page 5.
The Report of Identification was written by Christine Hayden, Investigator,
on 23 March 1949 and is one of documents concerning
recommendation that Sgt Meagher be identified.
In addition, there is a summary of what has taken place with the remaining crew members.
