Recovery of remains at the Koishkawa Military Cemetery took place between 10 and 14 March 1946.

28 men were disinterred and the two remains in one grave were designated Unknowns X-S and X-T.
This location is shown in the below sketch of the Koishikawa Military Cemetery.

One flight jacket with the name OSBORNE was in this grave site and
initially both X-S and X-T were considered to be Sgt William Henry Osborne.

Unknown X-S was redesignated X-311 at Yokohama Cemetery #1 and Unknown X-T as X-312.

In the second page is an undated document stating that
Unknown X-311 had been identified as 2nd Lt Roland Nelson.

Also in the second page is a document that overlaps with identification.
This is titled Identification Checklist and includes information leading to
Sgt Osborne's status being changed from X-311 to X-312.
