A Missing Air Crew Report ( MACR ) was required to be filed
within 48-72 hours of a B-29s failure to return to Base.

Below are two versions of this report.

The first is an update of the original and lists the names of the
crew members along with their status and position in the B-29.

The abbreviation for Sgt Vance ( RMC ) stands for
Returned to Military Control.

In Paragraph 5 is the notation "not heard from after takeoff ".

The second report is an undated mimeo from the War Department.

The status of each man is updated with asterisks with
the legend at the bottom of the page.

In this document, Sgt Vance's status is EUS
( Evacuated to the United States ).

On 13 April 1948 a letter was sent to Mr Vance
requesting that he provide information concerning the Crew.

He had previously submitted information on 16 February 1946.

This appears in the below document
titled S.R.&D ( Status Review and Determination ).

At the bottom of the page is a document from
Sgt John Welsh's IDPF stating the final status of each crew member.

*** Sgt Ellingson's remains were identified by the DPAA in June 2025. ***
