Sgt Welsh's remains were the first to be recovered from
the mass burial site at the Tokyo Military Prison.

His original designation was Unknown X-A.

Elsie B Mulford wrote a very concise report concerning the crash,
what took place with Sgt Welsh following his capture,
and recovery at the burial site.

The date of this report is 25 March 1949, a few days before
Sgt Welsh was officially identified by the US Army.
