Sgt John William Welsh's journey home began with the letter to his mother, Mrs Ella Welsh.
This was written by Major James F Smith of the
Memorial Division, Office of the Quartermaster General, on 28 April 1949.

were recovered and subsequent burial sites.

Mrs Welsh stateed that she desired her son's remains to be
returned to the United States and buried in Roselawn Cemetery, Saginaw Michigan.

This form is signed and dated on 5 May 1945.

In the following pages are some details concerning his return home,
concluding with his arrival in Saginaw, Michigan, on 29 September 1949.
