Below are documents that start at the beginning of
Sgt Meagher's journey home and conclude on 23 September 1949.

The Disinterment Directive is dated 15 August 1949.
However, there are additional dates of 28 January 1949
and 7 February 1949 in this form.

The same date of 7 February 1949 appears in the Record of Custodial Transfer.
His remains had not been identified at this time -
( it would take until 3 May 1949 before final identificaction was approved ).

His remains were at the American Graves Registration Port ( Yokohama )
until 22 August 1949 when his casket was placed aboard the USAT Cardinal O'Connell.

Below the Record of Custodial Transfer are three documents dated September 1949
that concern his remains being transferred to Arlington National Cemetery.
