Sgt Robert Hayes Nead and his twin brother Richard Charles Nead were born on 24 October 1921.

Their parents, Harry Willard Nead and Della Gilbert Nead,
also had three other children who were older than the twins.

In both the 1930 and 1940 Census Mr Harry Nead's occupation
was listed as
Machinist with Railroad

From information at Ancestry.com it appears that the
family lived in Perry, Iowa, for many years.
In 1940 the population was approximately 6,000.

There is not much information about Sgt Nead at either Ancestry.com nor
in his Individual Deceased Personnel File ( IDPF ).

The B-29 flown by Lt Edward G Law was lost during
73rd Bomb Wing Mission Number 37 the night of 1-2 April 1945.

Lt Law did not survive the crash but the other ten men were able to parachute to safety.
