On 30 May 1949 Mr Shiber received a form letter notifying him
that his son's remains were enroute to the United States.

The remains were accompanied by a military escort from
Fort Mason, San Francisco, to the New York Port of Embarkation ( DC-1).

A handwritten form was submitted by his escort for
the journey from Brooklyn to Long Island National Cemetery.

These two pages follow the telegram from Mr Shiber confirming that
his son's remains were to be transported to Long Island.

The last document is a formal
Receipt of Remains
signed by his escort, SSgt Sigmund Cohen.
