Part 2


The three sections of Introduction Part 2 have details of
Lt Paul Sisson's path from enlistment through
his time on Saipan with the 499th Bomb Group.

First Steps
Primarily a commentary with a few documents about his first year.

Paul Sisson enlisted in the Air Corps in April 1941 and was assigned to
Jefferson Barracks Military Post, Missouri, for basic training.

His first assignment was at Chanute AAF in the
Aircraft Mechanics School from May through October 1941.

From there he was transferred to Cochran Airfield in Macon, Georgia.

He was assigned to the 440th School Squadron as part of the Ground Crew.
His first position was Assistant Crew Chief and later became Crew Chief.

concludes with his death by execution at Osaka on 15 August 1945.
