These five pages were written by Elizabeth Ridgway, Investigator,
and primarily concern the four men
who survived the B-29 being shot down.
The date of this report is 2 February 1949,
written a month after Yokohama Trial 328 concluded.
There is no mention of the date of Sgt Strong's execution
' on or about 31 July 1945 '
that is stated within the
Trial Review by the Staff Judge Advocate.
A paragraph in the third page summarizes the difficulties
encountered in determining Sgt Strong's precise date of death.
The Administrative Decision states 15 August 1945 but his execution
could have taken place at the end of July 1945.
During the time of the trial, the process of returning
Sgt Strong's remains to the United States was in progress.
I do not know how much communication took place between
the Office of the Supreme Commander Allied Powers ( SCAP )
and the Quartermaster General at this time.
