The list of Sgt Walk's stations in his IDPF is quite detailed.

He enlisted in the Army Air Force on 1 October 1942.
His first assignment was at the Receiving Station, Camp Dodge, Iowa.

Training began at Sheppard AAF, Wichita Falls, Texas,
where he was at the Aviation Mechanics school.

This was followed by his transfer to Ypsilanti, Michigan, and
Mechanics Training on B-24s at the Willow Run plant and Air Field.

His next assignment was at Harlingen, AAF
for six weeks at the Flexible Gunnery School.

Follwed by Drew AAF, Tampa, Florida ,
from 31 May through 4 August 4 1943.

The next entry has him departing CONUS on
5 August 1943 and returning on 24 December 1943.

One of the newspaper clippings mentioned that he had been in Trinidad.
Some details of this are in the first document from
Air Crews Remembered.

These dates are confirmed in
Mauer and Mauer Combat Squadrons of WWII.

The unit returned to Drew AAF in late 1943 when
the US Navy took over these duties.

Upon his return to the United States, his next assignments
between January and May 1944 were at

Clovis AAF, New Mexico
Salina Kansas,
Clovis AAF,
Amarillo AAF
and Clovis AAF in mid-May 1944.

His name and that of Sgt Chester A Johnson are in
a roster of 499th Bomb Group enlisted men
in February 1944 at Clovis AAF.
