SSgt Wells' status is Missing in Action as of 3 December 1944.

His father, Mr Carl T Wells, Sr, was notified of
his son's status by either telegram or letter on 7 December 1944.

Next is the
Finding of Death of a Missing Person

This was issued one year and one day following
the last known date SSgt Wells that was known to be alive.

A second Battle Casualty Report follows with a date of 29 March 1946.

At the top is a handwritten note that a letter was sent 5 April.
SSgt Wells' status is Died of Wounds.

In the bottom half are the words:

WHILE A POW OF JAPANESE GOVT

This report appears to have been a Corrected Copy as
SSgt Wells was not formally identified until March 1947.

The same holds true int the
Report of Death issued 6 April 1946.
