Recovery Team #1 began recovery of remains at the
Tokyo Military Prison on 14 February 1946.

Recovery continued until 21 February 1946.

On the first day one complete remains was recovered.
There is no indication as to whether or not this is Sgt Welsh.

He was the first man recovered and was assigned Unknown X-A.

His remains were reburied at Yokohama Cemetery #1
on 15 February 1946 and his designation was changed to X-182.

At the bottom of the page are two sketches of the Prison.

The first is an overview of the Prison, including the location of the mass grave.

The second shows locations of remains in the group burial site.
