Col Byron Elias Brugge

The documents in these two pages cover the period from April through September 1949 and concern Col Brugge's remains being transfered from Japan to New York.

His wife, Mrs. Madeline Tinker Brugge, was sent requests as to how she wished his remains to be handled. There is correspondence between Mrs. Brugge and the Graves Registration Service concerning her request that he be cremated.

The remaing documents deal with his return home. He was transported to either Fort Mason, San Francisco or the Oakland Army Terminal, by the US Army Transport General Nelson M Walker and then by rail to New York.
