Sgt Clifford Arnold Myhra was born in Moorhead, Minnesota, 21 September 1923.
By 1930 his parents had moved across the Red River to Fargo, North Dakota.

He enlisted in the US Army Air Force in July 1943 but there is no record of his stations.
His B-29 training took place at Pratt Army Air Field, Pratt, Kansas, beginning late Spring or Summer 1944.

He was assigned to Captain Elmer G Hahn's Crew and the first documentation is the below
Special Orders 236 dated 28 August 1944. The Hahn Crew is #24.

Between the end of August 1944 and the Movement Orders
dated 4 October 1944 he would have been granted 7-10 days leave.

The below two pages of the Movement Orders were issued at Herington AAF, Kansas,
and their assigned B-29 was Serial Number 42-63423.
They departed Herington on 7 October 1944 and arrived on Saipan 19 October 1944.

Their journey to Saipan included stops at Mather AAF, Sacramento, California ,
Oahu, Johnston Island and Kwajalein .

Capt Hahn flew 12 missions between 24 November 1944 and 27 January 1945.
There is no way of knowing if Sgt Myhra was on all these missions.

Sgt Myhra survived the B-29 being lost on 27 January 1945 but was
severely burned and died in a military hospital on 10 Febrary 1945.

The final document below is from the 497th Bomb Group Narrative History
with the names of the crew and a brief description of how the B-29 was lost.
This History was written in early 1945 and information
available to the historian was not complete.

Many of the details from his Individual Deceased Personnel File ( IDPF )
are within this web site to honor
