INTRODUCTION

This link will take you to a
list provided by John Lehnen

Achieving 100% accuracy has once again proven to be an elusive goal with Case History 328. There are lists with 55 men executed at the Osaka Castle Prison with most identified within the IDPFs used in these pages.

All crew members in the 73rd Bomb Wing were identified
Of the 55 POWS executed, 48 were identified by February 1949

Some of the seven men listed as Unknowns were later identified

The Individual Deceased Personnel Files (IDPF) of five men were used to create these pages:

SSgt Lawrence W Beecroft
SSgt Erle P Flanagan
2nd Lt Harry J Foley
TSgt Alvin R Hart
1st Lt Louis W Lehnen

There are 14 sections within Case History 328 and in the above Navigation links you will encounter a few abbreviations in order to conserve space on each page

Four of these sections will be titled Appendix followed by a Date

The full title of the document is
Appendix to WD QMC Form 1042
and originates from Graves Registration

As a starting point I would suggest the sections titled

Missing Air Corps Personnel 3 February 1948

and

Missing Air Corps Personnel 11 February 1949

These sections used in conjunction with
Central Identification Point

will assist in identifying most of the 55 men executed at Osaka

Sources used in Case History 328 include:

To those that I have unintentionally not named,
my thanks to you also
