Recovery
Page 1

There are five documents in this first page that contain details of the men recovered at Osaka. In page two the information is presented in simple tablular format.

SSgt Flanagan's remains were recovered between 15 and 18 April 1946 in Shinodayama Military Maneuver Area Grave 1. The first report is from Team 3 and 4 with a basic description of his remains.
" Skull intact and undamaged "
( most likely indicates that he was not shot in the head )

He was the eighth man to be recovered from this grave and was designated as X-35. His identity was established as positive in this initial step. A more detailed investigation would follow to confirm his preliminary identification.

This is presented in the Identification section.
