Note:

Throughout these pages and those in the Mission section
you will encounter conflicting information
concerning the location of the crash site.

These discrepancies were eventually corrected.

The most accurate information is the
sketch map at the bottom of this page.

This is followed by a Google Map showing
the area of the crash site along with coordinates

The first document is Missing Air Crew Report ( MACR ) 14365.
This report was requrired to be submitted within
48-72 hours after a B-29 failed to return to Saipan.

Crew names are listed by position
and each man's status is MIA ( Missing in Action ).

Following the orginal MACR is an
updated version found in Lt McSpadden's IDPF.

Details of how and where their B-29 was lost
are followed by the status of each crew member.

Six of the men were identified as a group
and their burial location is in
Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St Louis, Missouri.

[ See top of Page 4 ]

Below this version of the MACR is an
internal office reference sheet dated 15 November 1948.
The status and date of death for each crew member is noted.

The final document is from Case History 328 and is titled
