Below are two Battle Casualty Reports,
one Finding of Death, and the Report of Death.
The first Battle Casualty Report is dated 31 May 1945 and a
telegram was sent to Lt McSpadden's wife Mary on 4 June 1945.
A Finding of Death is issued one year and one day
following the date when the status of a man is not known.
Lt McSpadden's was issued on 6 May 1946
An unusual situation exists within the
second Battle Casualty Report and the Report of Death.
Both are dated January 1948 but Lt McSpadden was not
formally identified until 6 April 1949.
Within the Remarks Section of the
second Battle Casualty Report is a comment:
Based on info rcvd since
that report ( above Finding of Death )....
Documents in the
Identification
and Board of Review
sections
indicate that Lt McSpadden was possibly identified
by December 1948
