Within the
Board of Review
section

is a two page document titled

IDENTIFICATION CHECKLIST

that complements the information in this section.

The first document also appears in the Recovery section.

Included are Lt McSpadden's recovery location,
physical characteristics of his remains,
and a dental chart at the bottom of the page.

Dental charts were a key factor in identifying Lt Joe S McSpadden.

Following the Report of Disinterment for Identification are
two forms.

The first is titled IDENTIFICATION DATA and is dated 15 December 1948.

The second is DENTAL IDENTIFICATION CHART, also dated 15 December 1948.

Paragraph 5(b) in the first form has two situations
that delayed his identification.
First is the laundry mark found on an undershirt.

Lt McSpadden's Serial Number ends in 3232.
The laundry mark is M-3233.

Second is the cameo ring found in a shirt pocket.
This ring was sent to the FBI in an attempt to determine the owner.

A few pages from Lt McSpadden's IDPF related to this situation are in Page 4.
