Below the map with the approximate location of the crash site is
a navigation map from the 73rd Bomb Wing Mission report.

Target 357, Musashino Aircraft Plant, is located in the Tokyo area in the upper left hand corner.
Coordinates of the crash site do not appear in the 73rd Bomb Wing report.

Following the navigation chart are two pages from the Special Orders issued at SHAAF in October 1944.

You will see that the names of Lt Col Mueller and Captain Hamilton are crossed out.
Each of these men had positions within the 499th Bomb Group Headquarters.

At the bottom of the page is the Missing Air Crew Report ( MACR ) from Sgt Osborne's IDPF.
This report along with the original report filed by
the 877th Bomb Squadron around 4-5 April 1945 lists nine men in the crew.

On this mission four other B-29s from the 73rd Bomb Wing were lost.
Each of the MACRs lists the 11 crew members.

There is no information concerning why there were only nine men flying in the Dustin Crew.
