Supreme Commander Allied Powers
The investigators had to put together several lists of men
who could have been at the Tokyo Military Prison.
These lists were narrowed down to those most likely to have been
there.
One of these lists contained 47 names provided by the Japanese.
One version of the abbreviation JI is Japanese Informant.
This list was expanded to 62-65 names and Sgt Pettersen's name appears
in the second document.
Next is a list of men organized by Crew Members. Sgt Pettersen's name
is in Page 7.
Extensive information was provided by POWs
who were at the Kempei Tai Headquarters in Tokyo.
These statements assisted investigators in
confirming that a crew member was there.
At the bottom is a statement by Lt Fiske Hanley.
This matches those provided by four members of the Smith Crew.
