1st Lt Eugene James Redinger
Tokyo Military Prison

Correspondence

As with Aircraft Commander Capt Elmer Hahn and Flight Engineer Lt Herbert Edman,
there is a surprising lack of correspondence in Lt Redinger's IDPF.

Other than the change of address submitted by Mrs Redinger in July 1947,
the correspondence is dated from January through April 1950.

It was around this time that the final attempts to identify all POW remains
buried at the United States Armed Forces Cemetery Yokohama #1 was concluding.

Sometime during 1950 these remains were transported
to Fort McKinley Military Cemetery, Manila, for burial.

This is now known as the Manila American Cemetery.

The last letter to Mrs Redinger, dated 13 April 1950,
summarizes the efforts to identify her husband.
