On 16 November 1948 Col Metz sent another letter
requesting Mr Shiber's opinion of his son's identification.

The handwritten reply by Mr Shiber requests that his son be buried overseas.

A letter dated 6 December 1948 follows.
Col Metz informs the Commanding General, 8th Army,
that Sgt Shiber has been identified and requests that records be updated.


The last letter on this page is from Major James F Smith, Memorial Division, to Mr Shiber.
He notes the recent letter from Mr Shiber accepting his son's identification.

He also notes the request to bury his son overseas.
Included in this letter is the Request for Disposition form.

This form will show up in the first page of Coming Home.

Mr Shiber and his daughters have chosen to have their son and brother
buried in Long Island National Cemetery.
