Donald Van Dever signed his
Draft Registration on his 18th birthday, 25 March 1943 .

Two months later he completed his first year at
North Texas Agricultural College ( NTAC ) and then
enlisted in the US Army Air Force on May 20th.

He was one of the 10 survivors from their B-29 being
hit by flak during the 1-2 April 1945 mission to Musashino.

Following capture, they were taken to the
Eastern District Kempei Tai Headquarters.
All except Sgt Hopper were taken to the Tokyo Military Prison.

Lt Van Dever was one of the nine men of the Lt Law crew who died at this prison
the night of 25-26 May 1945.
