As Jim mentioned in his summary of the Law Crew,
the reason why Sgt Ray Hopper was not transferred to
the Tokyo Military Prison is unknown.
In addition, the Army Air Force had no information concerning
the loss of V Square 11 and the other crew members.
The first letter is undated and originated from
the Office of the Quartermaster General.
The next letter is from Ray Hopper to Mrs Vernon Dye
( Lt Van Dever's sister Mary Louise )
dated January 12, 1946.
In the first sentence he wrote that he received a letter
yesterday " from some General "
requesting any information that he has concerning the crew..
The remainder of this letter mainly concerns his time in captivity.
He included a few details of the crew members who
were at the Eastern District Kempei Headquarters in Tokyo.
My assumption, based on this letter, is that there was a main HQ building.
Across the street were
the Horse Stalls where the POWs were confined.
The next letter is in Page 2 and he describes
what took place with their B-29 over the target.

Back in 2020 Michael Krehl sent me a four page article written by
Lt Col Hug.
This is in Page 3
Lt Col Hug knew Lt Law during their training days
and was searching for anything about him.
There was very fortunate chance encounter that
enabled him to contact Sgt Hopper.
