Sgt Weiser parachuted safely to the ground in Ongata Village
which is located a short distance west of Hachioji, Tokyo Prefecture.
He was killed by civilians and buried in or near a temple.
There are no documents in his IDPF
stating how his remains were located and recovered.

There are hints that the Americal Division
was involved in locating his remains.
The Americal Division ( 27th US Army Division )
arrived in Japan on 8 September 1945.
They were assigned to the
Kanagawa, Yamanashi , and Nagano prefectures.

The Report of Recovery in Capt Samuelson's IDPF
mentions that the Americal was in the area.
Not stated specifically is if this was in the area where the
B-29 crashed at Nishihara Village, Ongata Village, or both.

It is requested is that Sgt Weiser's remains be identifed based on
Record of Burial obtained from the Japanese.
