Chiba City
Correspondence
Page 1
1946

The correspondence in these two pages covers the period
from August 1946 through June 1947.

The letters are primarily between Mr Carl T Wells, Sr,
and various Divisions of the
Office of the Quartermaster General (OQMG ).

The early letters from Mr Wells requested any information about his son.

Following his 27 September 1946 letter with a sketch of his son's class ring
is a card dated November 7 with the handwritten note:

" Give no burial info..
The man is believed to be in a group "

Group burials take place when several men were known to be
at a location but the remains could not be individually identified.

_______________

In the last letter, dated 8 November 1946, Mr Wells was informed that
no information had been received concerning his son's burial.
